Shawano Scout earns Eagle Award

Cory Maas, of Shawano, son of Melvin and Linda Maas, received the Eagle Scout Award on Jan. 10. Cory was with Troop 40 for most of his Scouting career and then finished with Troop 303. In addition to leadership positions, service hours and merit badge requirements for the award — the highest in Scouting, Cory organized and oversaw a project where he made improvements to a local park. In 2013, only six out every 100 Boy Scouts achieved the Eagle rank.
