The 2014 Oconto County Breakfast on the Farm will be held Sunday, June 8, at Triple C Dairy Farm, owned by Lee Roy and Diane Kruse, at 8716 CCC Road, Oconto Falls.
A polka Mass featuring the Maroszek Brothers will be celebrated at 7 a.m., and breakfast will be served from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.
The meal will include all-you-can-eat pancakes, eggs with ham and cheese, sausage, yogurt, apple slices, cheese, milk, coffee, orange juice and ice cream. Cost is $7 for adults and $4 for children ages 6 to 12.
Entertainment will be available for all ages, including live music, a petting zoo, children’s games and farm tours.
The Kruses purchased their 120-acre farm with 24-cow stall barn in 1985 from a retiring couple. Thirty years later, along with raising three children, Kevin, Katrina, and Kayle, the Kruses have grown their farm business to crop 1,300 acres. They milk 635 cows.
The Kruses raise their replacement heifers themselves and do most of their own field work. The dairy herd is milked in a 30-cow Boumatic rotary parlor. Milk is shipped through the Dairy Farmers of America Cooperative. The Kruses employ 11 full-time and three part-time employees.
The Oconto County Breakfast on the Farm is coordinated by the Oconto County Breakfast on the Farm Committee and made possible with financial support of local businesses.
