Alice E. Bowman, 101, Mountain, passed away on Wednesday, Aug. 13, 2014. She was born to the late John and Lily (Waltho) McAllan on Feb. 3, 1913.
Alice McAllan married Bernard Bowman on Dec. 15, 1929, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Lakewood. The couple lived all of their lives in the Mountain area, where they farmed and owned and operated a grocery store. Alice also drove school bus.
Alice was a hard worker and was very dedicated to everything she did. She was a member of St. Michael Catholic Church in Suring.
Alice is survived by her daughter, Joan (Glenn) Harris, of Mountain; her son, Jerry Bowman, of Mountain; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. She is further survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Bernard, in 2005; her two sons, Kenneth and Bernard Jr.; and her 11 siblings.
Visitation was held at Gruetzmacher Funeral Home in Suring on Saturday, Aug. 16, from 9 a.m. until the memorial service at 11 a.m. with Sister Marla Clercx officiating. Alice was interred in Mountain Cemetery.
