Madeline L. Milheiser, 91, Oconto Falls, died Tuesday morning, Aug. 12, 2014, at Sharpe Care Ltd. She was born Feb. 24, 1923, in Lena to Joseph and Amelia (Metzner) Beschta.
Madeline grew up in the Lena area, where she graduated from Lena High School with the Class of 1941.
On Sept. 13, 1947, she married Louis Milheiser in Lena. Following their marriage the couple moved to Oconto Falls, where Madeline was employed as a teacher’s aide at Jefferson Elementary School. She was a longtime member of St. Anthony Catholic Church and the PCCW. As an avid follower of all sports, Madeline kept close tabs on the Milwaukee Brewers and Green Bay Packers, having a keen knowledge of both past and present players, statistics and their talents or “lack thereof.”
Survivors are her three children, Thomas (Jill) Milheiser, Oconto Falls; twin daughters, Karen (Paul) Spaude, Colgate, and Kathleen (Mark) Crain, Lander, Wyoming; seven grandchildren; five great-grandsons and three great-granddaughters; and one sister-in-law, Betty Beschta, Lena.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Louie, on Aug. 29, 1995; one sister, Mary Lou Beschta; and one brother, Joe Beschta.
Visitation was held after 9 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 16, at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Oconto Falls until the time of service. Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at 11 a.m. Saturday at the church with the Rev. Joel Sember officiating. Burial followed in the church cemetery.
