For the 15th consecutive year, the staff of The Stephenson National Bank & Trust (SNBT) has earned the Wisconsin Bankers Association award for its commitment to financial education in the community.
A SNBT office is located in Oconto.
SNBT bankers received the State Bankers Promoting Financial Literacy Award for teaching more than 750 individuals in the past year.
In an effort to continue the legacy of educating area youth, SNBT celebrated the 12th annual National Get Smart About Credit Day on Oct. 16. Employees from SNBT visited almost a dozen high school classrooms in Marinette, Menominee and Oconto counties to educate students on responsible credit practices and the importance of keeping their identities safe.
SNBT participates in other education initiatives, including Teach Children to Save Day presentations for elementary and middle school students, seminars, classroom presentations, bank tours, Newspaper in Education sponsorship, Mini-Business World and local scholarship funding.
