The city of Oconto Falls has dropped an investigation into an undisclosed personnel issue that prompted the Oconto Falls Municipal Utilities Commission to place the utility manager on paid administrative leave.
Chuck Grady was placed on paid leave following an emergency meeting of the commission Oct. 3. On Oct. 7, he resigned as utilities manager, a position he held for the past 10 years. Grady had been a city employee since 1977.
The commission accepted his resignation with a 4-0 vote Oct. 8. One member of the commission was absent. The commission also approved a final payout of $61,106 to cover sick leave benefits, remaining and accrued vacation time, and compensatory time.
In his resignation letter dated Oct. 7, Grady wrote, “I appreciate the opportunity working with all of you and the time that I have invested in the Oconto Falls Municipal Utility.”
According to City Administrator Vicki Roberts, the commission will discuss how to fill the position.
In the meantime, lineman Jason Valentine is serving as the interim manager.
