Suring High School senior Creo VanBellinger was named to the All-Marinette & Oconto Conference football team last week, garnering a first-team selection after leading the conference in tackles with 166.
The 5-foot-11, 175-pound linebacker, who was also second in the conference with five interceptions, was the Eagles’ sole representative on the first team.
VanBellinger also notched second-team honors as a running back. He rushed for 779 yards and nine touchdowns on 148 carries.
Junior defensive lineman Mitchell Firgens (6-0, 155 pounds) received second-team accolades.
The Eagles’ honorable mentions were 5-foot-8, 130-pound senior Grant Fischer and 5-foot-11, 200-pound senior Dante Carlson.
Suring finished 2-7, 2-5 in the M&O.
