Parents, caregivers and their 10- to 14-year-old youth are invited to take part in an interactive family program.
Parents will learn to build on their strengths in showing love and setting limits, and youth will develop skills in handling peer pressure and building a positive future, all while families grow together.
The seven-week class will be held from 5:30-8 p.m. Mondays, Feb. 2 and 16, March 2, 9, 23 and 30 and April 6 at Washington Middle School in Oconto Falls.
Each session will include a free family supper at 5:30 p.m. and free child care for younger siblings.
At 6 p.m., parents and youth will meet with separate facilitators. From 7-8 p.m., parents and youth meet together as a family.
Each session contains a variety of activities, including parent-youth discussions, games, projects, skill-building practice and game-like learning activities.
This program is offered in collaboration with Oconto County Health and Human Services, Washington Middle School and Oconto County University of Wisconsin-Extension Parenting Resource Center.
