Isabel L. Sells, 97, New London, passed away on Thursday, Feb. 12, 2015, at Woodland Village in Suring. She was born on Jan. 12, 1918, in Rothschild (Marathon County), daughter of the late George W. and Josephine (Pillar) Smith.
Isabel was formerly a telephone operator and then kindergarten teacher at Emanuel Lutheran School, New London. She loved being in the Lutheran Women’s Missionary Society and the New London Garden Club. She also loved to travel and went on many trips with the First State Bank Premier Club.
Isabel is survived by her daughter, Linda (Roger Jr.) Beaber, Mountain; three grandchildren, Ryan Beaber, Crooked Lake, Troy (Jana) Beaber, Lily and Kelly Beaber, Mountain; and six great-grandchildren: Tate, Seth, Wyat, Kelsey, Kiana and Kyra.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, June Beaudoin.
Funeral services for Isabel were held on Monday, Feb. 16, at 11 a.m. at Emanuel Lutheran Church, New London, with the Rev. Marcus Schulz officiating. Visitation was held at the church on Monday from 10 a.m. until the time of service, with burial in the Floral Hill Cemetery, New London.
