The Oconto Falls High School girls basketball team will travel to Clintonville on Tuesday to take on the Truckers in a WIAA Division 3 regional matchup.
Clintonville (7-13, 7-8 Eastern Valley Conference), the No. 4 seed in the brackets released Sunday, is led by Autumn Voigt, a 5-11 junior averaging 11.2 points and 11.2 rebounds per game.
“We are just going to have to play our game and have tough defense, limiting her touches,” Oconto Falls coach Michael Kaczmarek Jr. said.
Oconto Falls (8-12, 6-9 Bay Conference), the No. 5 seed, will rely on 6-foot sophomore Jennifer Krueger to counter Voigt in the low post. Krueger ranked second in the Bay Conference in rebounds and averages 8.2 points per game.
Injuries have depleted the OFHS varsity to eight players heading into the tourney.
“We will have to play our top five more often and find a way to score,” Kaczmarek said.
Senior Elizabeth Manns leads the Panthers in scoring, averaging 10.4 points per game in Bay Conference play. Junior Bailey Wolf leads the conference in assists with 50.
The winner of the Oconto Falls-Clintonville game will face No. 1 seed Wittenberg-Birnamwood (18-2, 11-2 Central Wisconsin-8) Feb. 27 in Wittenberg.
