Chris Engebretsen
Age: 43, lifelong resident of the town
Education: Graduate of Gillett High School
Employment: Farmer (self-employed), CEO of Engebretsen Brothers LLC
Experience: 25 years town of Gillett volunteer fireman, 25 years Gillett Area Ambulance Service, vice president of the Oconto County Youth Fair, former president of Gillett FFA Alumni, former Bethel Lutheran Church Council, member of the Gillett Sno-Riders, member of Breakfast on the Farm Committee
Statement: “I have resided in the town of Gillett my entire lifetime and want to see the town of Gillett prosper. I am the fourth-generation family member to run the farm. With my business located in the town, I am around on a daily basis to handle any town business matter that would come up. I also believe that a supervisor needs to listen to the constituents and voice their concerns at town meetings.”
John Timm
Age: 49, lifelong resident of the town
Education: Graduate of Gillett High School; Northeast Wisconsin Technical College firefighter course certificate
Employment: Owner/operator Timm Farms
Experience: Elected as town of Gillett supervisor in 2013; elected to the Gillett School Board in 2011 and re-elected in 2014; member of the Oconto County Fair Board, 20 years
Statement: “I feel I am the best candidate for the Gillett supervisor position because over the past two years I have tried to work within our means. I have listened to the concerns of the town citizens and personally met with them. Funding projects has always been an issue. I will continue to work with other town, city and county officials to provide the best for our citizens. Maintaining good roads will be at the foremost of my concerns.”
Marilyn Reichwald
Age: 60, resident of the town for 42 years
Education: Graduated from Manistique High School, graduate of Martin’s School of Hair Design, numerous classes at NWTC
Experience: Supervisor for the town of Gillett, four years; member of the town of Gillett Plan Commission, serving as secretary
Employment: Office staff at McDermid Transportation Inc.
Statement: “During the last four years I have helped with making wise decisions to improve our town, keeping taxes lower and still providing residents the needed services they have come to expect. This year the board voted not to take the additional 2 percent levy increase, allowed by the state, to keep taxes down. I feel road repairs are an annual concern that require attention based on condition and the amount of traffic. Then they are repaired accordingly.”
