Alice M. (Jewell) Hansen, 95, of Gillett, died on Monday, March 9, 2015. She was born on March 26, 1919, to Robert and Bernice (Scutt) Jewell in Gillett.
On Dec. 24, 1937, Alice married the late Elmer Hansen. He preceded her in death on Feb. 16, 1947.
Alice was a member of the Bethel Lutheran Church and Northern Gardeners Club in Gillett. She worked as a leather cutter at the former Northern Shoe Company in Pulaski for many years. After retiring she worked at the former Friday Canning Company. She was a volunteer for the Ladies Aide and Luebke- Robinson Post 8314 Gillett VFW Auxiliary. Alice enjoyed gardening, sewing, crocheting and traveling.
Survivors include her children Gary (Judy) Hansen, of Powers, Michigan, Beverly (James) Holl, of Green Bay, Allen (Joan) Hansen, of Slinger; grandchildren, Douglas, Dennis, David, Denise, Daniel, Adam and Dr. Danielle; nine great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren. She is further survived by her siblings, George Jewell, of California, Lois (Leon) Riemer, of Gillett, Cora Rotter-Boerst, of Gillett, Robert Jr. (Lynn) Jewell, of Brookfield, Bernie (Robert) Paulson, of Oconto Falls; sisters-in-law, Lorraine Jewell, of Germantown, Anita Hansen, of Sobieski; many nieces, nephews and other family members.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Elmer; sister, Mary Jean McNulty-Berger; brothers, Wilmer (Leona) Jewell, Rodney Jewell, Harvey Jewell.
Friends may call at Bethel Lutheran Church, Oconto Falls, on Saturday, March 14, from 9-11 a.m. Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Bill Gruenstern officiating. Burial will take place in Bethel Lutheran Church Cemetery following the funeral service.
