A 17-year-old from Gillett was killed and two other teens seriously injured in a Marinette County accident Saturday night.
According to Marinette County authorities, the three were northbound in a vehicle on 41st Road near West Fourth Road in the town of Beaver about 11 p.m. Their vehicle failed to negotiate a curve, entered a ditch and rolled over.
Wyatt Schaal died at the scene. Jensyn Schaal, 18, of Gillett, and Kevin Lansin, 17, of Coleman, were injured and flown to St. Vincent’s Hospital, Green Bay. Schaal was in serious condition, a spokesperson at St. Vincent’s said Tuesday. The spokesperson said Lansin was not a patient at the hospital but could not provide additional information.
Speed is believed to have been a contributing factor in the accident, which remains under investigation by the Marinette County Sheriff’s Office. Authorities did not release the identity of the driver.
