David Wilbur Young, born May 27, 1955, in Oconto Falls, passed away peacefully on July 9, 2025, surrounded by loving memories of a life well-lived. A proud father to his son, Cole, and a cherished grandfather to Samantha, John and Millie, Dave always made time for his family and was always there when needed.
Dave graduated from Oconto Falls High School in 1973 before serving in the Coast Guard from 1974-76. He later earned an associate’s degree from NWTI, specializing as a machinist and quality control specialist.
A true outdoorsman at heart, Dave had a passion for hunting and fishing, often teaching Cole the ropes and spending countless hours in nature. He was an animal lover but especially enjoyed spending time with and walking his dogs, Sam and Dusty.
Dave was preceded in death by his parents, Donald and Elizabeth (Bitters) Young; brother, Daniel (Buster) Young; and his beloved nieces, Anna and Angie Young.
He is survived by his son, Cole (Jackelyn) Young; and grandchildren, Samantha, John and Millie. Dave is further survived by his siblings, Denise (Craig) Way, Debra (Gary) Young and Dean (Erin) Young; and nieces and nephews, Jason (Heidi) Young, Amanda Kratz, Brenda (Ron) Ausloos, Nick Way and Tom Way.
A visitation for Dave and his brother, Buster, will be held from 4-7 p.m. Thursday, July 17, 2025, at Jones Funeral Service in Oconto Falls with a sharing of memories to follow.
