Shawano 53, Seymour 38
Shawano improved to 6-3 overall and 2-1 in the Bay Conference with a 53-38 win over Seymour.
“The team played with a lot of heart as we were down a coupe players,” coach Ryan Koenig said. “Some hot shooting by Ella Stuber helped us to a 27-18 halftime lead.”
Koenig also credited the team’s defensive play.
“Our defense was outstanding tonight and led to some turnovers in the second half that sealed the victory.”
Leah Nordin scored 20 points for the Hawks.
Next up is a Dec. 27 game against Ashwaubenon at the Kress Events Center at UW-Green Bay.
Freedom 59, Oconto Falls 43
Maddy Maloney scored 16 points and Rylie Shallow added 12, but Oconto Falls lost 59-43 to Freedom.
A 15-point deficit at halftime was too much to overcome for the Panthers, who played an even game with Freedom in the second half.
Coleman 33, Suring 31
Trailing 20-14 at the half, Suring fought back in the second half against Coleman but fell short in a 33-31 loss.
Bunny Cramer led the Eagles with 10 points. Paige Pommerich and Gracie Christensen each scored eight, and Ellayna Skarban had five.
Oneida Nation 60, Lena 58
Lena suffered its second loss of the season, a 60-58 loss to Oneida Nation.
The teams were tied at 30-30 at halftime, and Oneida Nation won the second half 30-28, winning on their home court.
Madilyn Thomson led the Wildcats with 23 points, 13 rebounds, four assists and three steals.
Eva Brooks scored 17 points and had 12 rebounds.
Kali Fischer dropped in 12 points and held the team with four steals.
Green Bay Preble 45, Pulaski 44
Like the boys team, the Pulaski girls came up one point short in their 45-44 loss to Green Bay Preble.
Pulaski held a 22-16 lead at halftime, but Preble bounced back in the second half, taking a 29-22 score and winning on the Red Raiders’ court.
Olivia Sprangers led Pulaski with 18 points, and Ashley Servais added 13.
