Shawano/Bonduel 8, Chequamegon/Phillips/Butternut 2
Seven players found the net as Shawano/Bonduel scored four goals in each of the first two periods to defeat Chequamegon/Phillips/Butternut 8-2 at the Crawford Center.
Gavin Hundt, the only player with more than one goal, got both of his in the first period. He opened the scoring just 31 seconds into the game with an assist from Jeremy Helmuth. Chequamegon tied the score just 28 seconds later.
Hundt and Helmuth then assisted on a goal by Blake Swedberg at 8:45 to put Shawano back in the lead, a portion they never relinquished again. Waylon Snider scored at 12:10 with help from Wyatt Schroeder, and Hundt had his second goal at 14:55 with help from Max Huntington and Swedberg to put Shawano up 4-1.
The second period was all Shawano.
Huntington scored at 1:10 with an assist from Snider. Kielian Armbuster scored at 7:08 with another assist from Helmuth. Cameron Schroeder scored at 9:31 with a Swedberg assist, and Helmuth scored at 13:09 with an assist from Hundt.
The Eagles picked up their second goal in the third period.
On the penalty side of things, Chequamegon was called for five infractions and served 10 minutes. Shawano had four fouls for eight minutes.
Working in the net for Shawano/Bonduel was Kaiden Thornborrow, who had eight saves.
Eau Claire North 13, Antigo 0
The Antigo/Wittenberg-Birnamwood co-op boys hockey team ended the weekend with a disappointing 13-0 shutout at the hands of Eau Claire North.
The Huskies connected on seven goals in the first period and three more in each of the next two stanzas.
Antigo was called for five penalties for 10 minutes, while Eau Claire North was penalized three times for six minutes.
Richie Veriha worked the net for the Red Robins and had 29 saves.

Somerset 11, Antigo 1
Antigo opened play at Somerset with an 11-1 loss to the host Spartans.
Trailing 1-0, Eli Kassler tied the score at 7:11 in the first period. From there, the Spartans added two more in the first period, two in the second and six in the third.
Antigo players were called for nine penalties for 18 minutes, while Somerset had three infractions for six minutes.
Richie Veriha was busy in the net for Antigo, as he racked up 47 saves. Carson Belisle had eight for Somerset.
