Panthers win Pulaski volleyball invite

Sept. 21 Pulaski Invite Oconto Falls lost to West DePere in three games the first match of the day before they won the next four to win the invite including a rematch against West DePere in the championship game. “It was nice to see the girls continue to fight and play hard after they lost that first match.,” coach Rochell Otto said. “They gained momentum and improved their play throughout the day.” In pool play, the Panthers lost to West De Pere 25-21, 17-25, 14-16. Izzy Otto had 23 assists and seven digs, Amber Otto had 14 kills and three aces, Lucy Ripley had 13 kills and Katelyn Kurek had nine digs. Oconto Falls best NEW Lutheran 25-22, 25-9. Izzy Otto had 15 assists and nine digs, Amber Otto had 10 kills, Ripley had four kills and two aces, and Kurek also had four kills and six digs. Oconto Falls beat Houghton 25-22, 25-21. Izzy Otto had 22 assists and 10 digs, Amber Otto had 11 kills and 10 digs, Ripley had 10 kills and two aces, and Rylie Shallow had nine digs. In gold bracket play, Oconto Falls beat Pulaski 25-14, 25-13. Izzy Otto had 24 assists and eight digs, Ripley had 14 kills, Amber Otto had 11 kills and seven digs, Ella Jahnke added four kills, Rylie Shallow had nine digs, Hailyn Shallow added six digs. Oconto Falls then beat West De Pere 25-16, 25-19. Izzy Otto had 20 assists, four digs and four aces, Ripley had 10 kills and three aces, Amber Otto had nine kills and three aces, Kurek had six digs and three aces, and Brylee Gorman added three aces. Hilbert Invite Wittenberg-Birnamwood won three matches and lost two at the Hilbert Invite. The Chargers opened the day with a 2-0 win over their hosts and another 2-9 win over Gibraltar. A 2-1 loss to Algoma was followed by a 2-0 win over Roncalli. The day closed with a 2-0 loss to Central Wisconsin Christian. Suring Invite Suring opened their invite with a 2-1 loss to Goodman/Pembine on scores of 25-18, 23-25, 11-15. Next was a 2-0 loss to Lourdes Academy on games of 16-25, 16-25. Bowler lost a 2-0 match to Lourdes Academy. Clintonville Invite Shawano cleaned house at the Clintonville Invite. The Hawks won each match 2-0, defeating Southern Door, St. Mary Catholic and Valders.
