Bonduel, Pulaski runners show speed, endurance

Sept. 17 Bonduel Bear Invite The Bonduel boys cross country team won first place at their home invite, while the Wittenberg-Birnamwood team won the girls event. For the boys, Bonduel scored 37 points, followed by Menominee Nation in second with 49, Wittenberg-Birnamwood in sixth with 168 and Lena/St. Thomas Aquinas Academy in ninth with 212. On the girls side, it was the Chargers winning with 34, followed by Bonduel in second place with 46 and Lena/St. Thomas in fourth with 97. Bonduel’s Mariah Wondra captured the gold in 20:59.1. Three Wittenberg-Birnamwood girls finished in second, third and fourth places. They were Rory Salveson in 21:19.2, Nora Bushman in 21:49.2 and Harper Kroll in 22:02, respectively. Bonduel’s Teagan Engel was fifth in 22:05.8. Also in the top 10 were Adrena Rabas of Lena/St. Thomas in seventh, Bonduel’s Hailey Berg in eighth and Gabrielle Timm of Wittenberg-Birnamwood in ninth. Aspynn Anderson of Lena/St. Thomas placed 12th, Violet Buchholz of Wolf River Lutheran in Shawano was 17th, Cierra Schnell of Bonduel was 18th and Jayden Zeinert of Wittenberg-Birnamwood placed 20th. Bonduel’s Kember Frome finished 21st, with teammate Taylor Rank in 22nd. Madilyn Thomson of Lena/St. Thomas placed 23rd, with Bonduel’s Seidy Blandon in 26th, Menominee Nation’s Urijah Reevis in 27th and Lena/St. Thomas’ Della Kostreva in 30th. Marion’s Bella Conover finished in 37th place, followed by Menominee Nation’s Anisa Peters in 38th. Lena/St. Thomas runners Alexis Maloney and Hannah Thomson were 42nd and 43rd, while teammate Haley Vanark placed 46th. Marion’s Bridget Much finished in 47th. For the boys, Race Anvelink of Bonduel was the best local runner, capturing second place in 18:24.8, just one-half second behind the winner. Ryan Corn of Menominee Nation placed fourth in 18:40.2, and Bonduel’s Griffin Uelmen was fifth in 19:05. Also notching top 10 finishes were Oliver Chitwood of Bonduel in seventh, Bryant Waupoose III of Menominee Nation in eighth, Gage Anderson of Bonduel in ninth and Barron Waupoose of Menomonee Nation in 10th. Menominee Nation’s Jason Chapman placed 13th, followed by Joah Dworniczak of Bonduel in 15th, Menominee Nation teammates Francis Delabrau in 16th and Michael Peters in 17th, and Mason Belongia of Lena/St. Thomas in 18th. Quinn Olson of Menominee Nation placed 25th, with Erik Kosch of Lena/St. Thomas in 28th and Landon Meronk of Wittenberg-Birnamwood in 29th. Fellow Charger Jonas Bushman was 31st, followed right behind by Ben Reisner of Bonduel in 32nd. Wittenberg-Birnamwood’s Hayden Miller placed 34th and teammate Milo Salveson was 36th. Bonduel’s Garrett Anderson was in between them in 35th place. Dalton Fletcher of Wittenberg-Birnamwood placed 44th, followed by teammates Colten Mueller in 45th and Taras Guk in 46th. Ryan Drengler of Wolf River Lutheran was 48th, and Marion’s Tristan Herro was 55th. Dash Comins of Lena/St. Thomas finished 60th, with teammates Dane Comins in 62nd, Cooper Malloy in 65th and Sawyer Maloney in 67th. Mason Martin of Gresham/Bowler finished in 68th. Jakubek-Willems Invite Pulaski’s girls won their four-team event at Winagamie Golf Course in Neenah with 22 points, ahead of Ashwaubenon’s 42. The boys also won first place and tallied 24 points, with Ashwaubenon next with 32. Emerson Fabry won the girls 5,000-meter run in 19:42.3, followed by teammate Olivia Stedl in second in 20:24.2. Addie Bruckert placed fourth in 21:13.5. Ellie Murphy finished in seventh place, and Cameran Reiss was 11th. Estella Vieaux placed 14th, with Briana Anundsen in 20th and Maggie Gumina in 21st. Maya Barker placed 35th. For the boys, Pulaski captured six of the top 10 spots. The team was led by Grayden Gossen in second place in 17:19.3 and Daniel Augustine in third in 17:22.7. Parker Marshall was fifth in 17:43.3. Placing sixth was Arden Gillen, with Dayne Groth in eighth and Dayne Nowak in 1oth. Capturing 14th through 16th were Mitchell Pilon, Peyton Yaw and Thomas Murphy, respectively. Ben Augustine finished in 32nd place, followed by Carter Ryskoski in 34th and Isaac Sonnenberg in 35th. Lucas Ford was 40th. Other runners were Mason Groth in 44th, Nolan Greene in 53rd and Liam Ford in 58th.
