• On Feb. 1, a jury found Tim J. Sasman, 42, Bear Creek, guilty of first-degree sexual assault of a child younger than 13. On Aug. 19, Judge William Kussel Jr. sentenced Sasman to 12 years in prison, followed by 10 years of extended supervision with conditions. Kussel gave him credit for 200 days already served.
• Maurice A. Olson, 34, Suring, pleaded no contest Aug. 19 to fleeing an officer in his vehicle and a misdemeanor charge of operating a motor vehicle while his driver’s license was revoked. Judge Katherine Sloma sentenced him to 18 months in prison followed by 24 months of extended supervision.
• Alex L. Van Galder, 29, Wausau, had his probation revoked July 14 for failure to report to jail. Sloma sentenced him to the 674 days he has already served in county jail.
• Alejandra M. Ovalle, 23, Clintonville, was charged Aug. 19 with felony bail jumping. Sloma set a $500 cash bond and scheduled a status conference for Sept. 16.
• Amanda Bowman, 47, Bowler, was charged Aug. 21 with attempted first-degree intentional homicide, arson and six counts of felony bail jumping. Sloma set a cash bond of $150,000 and scheduled a preliminary hearing for Aug. 28.
