Next historical society event looks at past memories

What do you cherish most about the past? Is it the songs that defined a generation, iconic movies, classic cars, retro fashion or the taste of favorite foods that remind you of simpler times? Whatever your memory, the next program from the Oconto County Historical Society, “A Blast from the Past,” will have you reminiscing and smiling. The program will begin at 6:30 p.m. Dec. 5 at the Beyer Home and Carriage Museum, 917 Park Ave., Oconto. Marti Matyak, retired educator and current archivist for the Gillett Area Historical Society, will lead the program with a engaging PowerPoint presentation exploring the highlights of yesteryear. This event, part of the historical society’s monthly speaker series, is free. Light refreshments will be served.
