The Menominee Indian High School football team beat Marion/Tigerton 42-14 in a nonconference game Friday in Marion.
The Eagles (2-3, 1-1 Northern Lakes) tied the game 14-14 on a Dallas Madosh hail mary that Michael Pecore hauled in for a touchdown just before halftime. They shut out the Thundercatz (2-3, 1-1 Central Wisconsin Conference-10) 28-0 in the second half.
“This is probably the biggest win we’ve had here in about seven years,” Menominee Indian coach Chris Clache said. “They were definitely bigger than we were, but we played a real physical football game.”
Madosh finished with three touchdowns, including a 45-yarder to Kyle Winker.
Menominee Indian’s defense came up with seven turnovers—four fumble recoveries and three interceptions.
Pecore’s 19-yard interception return for a touchdown in the fourth quarter iced the game.
The Eagles are riding high on a two-game winning streak after beating Elcho/White Lake 40-6 last week.
“I think last week, it gave these guys confidence,” Clache said. “We lost a few close games to begin the year. … Last week getting that win, then this week the way they fought back.”
