Mary A. Lehman

Mary A. Lehman, 88, of the Town of Germania, passed away Sunday morning, April 21, 2024, at Evergreen Health Services in Shawano. Mary Anna Kurszewski was born July 23, 1935, in Wittenberg as the daughter of the late Felix and Frances (Plaski) Kurszewski. She was raised and attended grade school in the Wittenberg area where she helped her parents working at the Blue Goose and took care of her younger siblings while her folks tended to the customers. On Oct. 12, 1953, Mary was united in marriage to Donald L. Lehman at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Galloway. The couple resided in rural Tigerton, and they became members of St. Anthony’s Catholic Church. Mary volunteered on many occasions at church throughout the years. The couple then purchased the Wallace Lehman farmstead in 1956, and in 1965, they moved to the Much Farm in the Town of Germania. Many voters in the area will remember Mary for the hours she logged working at the town’s elections. In her spare time, Mary enjoyed gardening, canning her harvest, picking pickles, milking cows and taking care of their home. She was an excellent cook, enjoyed baking bread, and made clothing for her family as she was a talented seamstress. Her world centered around her family, and she took any opportunity to spend time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Survivors include her husband of 70 years, Donald L.
