Last year’s BABA semifinals featured Little Falls, Eland, Scandinavia and Clintonville.
Those same four teams are still alive in this season’s tournament, and the semifinal games set for Aug. 24 are the same matchups as 2024.
Little Falls and Eland won the West and North division championships, respectively, on Aug. 17. Little Falls defeated Caroline 24-1, and Eland handed Birnamwood a 4-1 loss. The Loggers and Engineers will meet at 1:30 p.m. in Little Falls.
Meanwhile, Clintonville won the East Division title with an 11-8 win over Neopit, and Scandinavia handed Plover a 10-2 defeat. The A’s and Vikings will meet at 1:30 p.m. in Clintonville.
East Division
Clintonville 11, Neopit 8
Turner Doornink’s two home runs and team-high three hits helped lead the third-seeded A’s over the top-seeded Chiefs in Neopit.
Hunter Vollmer, Austin Hoffman, Braxton Ebben and Jake Van Allen each added two hits for Clintonville.
Five players — Anthony Leeman, Mequon Frechette, Mike Pecore, Wendell Waukau and Dalen Corn — had two hits each for Neopit.
Brock Smejkal picked up the win on the mound, and Jamison Besaw took the loss.
West Division
Little Falls 24, Caroline 1
Kyle Finger had a big day at the plate for the Loggers, as he finished with three hits, including a pair of home runs, and knocked in seven runs.
Drew Radies and Tanner Nienhaus added three hits for Little Falls, while Parker Gullixon, Spencer Strebe and Jenner Gullixon had two each.
Radies, Jenner Gullixon and Sawyer Strebe also hit home runs for the Loggers.
Klay Barkow, Braiden Behnke, Mason Breitenfeldt and Kolton Barkow had hits for Caroline.
Chris Dunn picked up the win on the mound, and Klay Barkow took the loss.
Little Falls came into the game as the division’s top seed, while Caroline received the No. 2 seed.
North Division
Eland 4, Birnamwood 1
Second-seeded Birnamwood outhit the top-seeded Engineers 8-6 but managed to score only one run.
Nic Barnes and Tyler Nelson homered for Eland. Barnes also led the Engineers with two hits.
Jacob Ligenza, Lucas Mandich and Jeremy Jensen also had a hit each for Eland.
Mason Meverden led the Kings with three hits, while Logan Theix and Carson Meverden added two each and Conner Meverden had one.
Nelson picked up the win on the mound, and Theix took the loss.
South-Central Division
Scandinavia 10, Plover 2
Braden Hunkins’ three hits and five RBIs helped lead the top-seeded Vikings over the third-seeded Pterodactyls.
Hunkins and Caleb Bembenek hit home runs for Scandinavia. Bembenek added two hits, and Logan Moe and Landon Moe each had two hits while driving in three runs.
Kaden Thauer and Jackson Fox had two hits to lead Plover at the plate.
Ben Lee picked up the win, and Thauer took the loss.
