Letter: Players union should say no to criminal behavior

To the editor: By now all of you have heard that Ray Rice has been reinstated on his appeal to play in the NFL again. If some team wants him. You can bet Adrian Peterson will also be reinstated soon. All the sports media wants to do is take shots at Roger Goodell. Has Roger Goodell punched a woman and knocked her out? Has Roger Goodall taken a tree branch and whipped some little kid’s butt and scared him? Not that I know of, yet they want to make him the bad guy. Roger Goodell was trying to send a message to the players that this behavior will not be tolerated! The NFL players union and their executive director, DeMaurice Smith, jumped right in to side with Rice and Peterson. Will they do that with any player that commits a crime? Will you ever see the sports media come down on the players union? What about the commercials we have seen with NFL players saying no more to domestic violence, no more this, no more that. Why don’t they say no more of my money is going to pay NFL players union dues as long as criminal behavior is going to be allowed? Dennis Hodkiewicz, Shawano
