To the editor:
A couple of months ago, Sheriff Randy Wright wrote a letter to the editor about the Shawano County Board describing how eight or nine individual members are holding up projects that are approved but not supported with funding due to the lack of board votes.
This group has been a hindrance in moving Shawano County forward to grow and develop the community for more than 10 years.
Unfortunately, some of these same board members manipulate and belittle department heads to control the outcome of progress in the county. There is little to no respect for other educated people within the community. One members of this same group made the statement that the whole board could not reach an IQ of 135. This is an example of the arrogance that is demonstrated, and the words that an individual is capable of stating about his colleagues.
Members of the board who supported Randy Young in April for the board chairman position got the shaft by not getting assigned to any meaningful committees. Some members of this group have never toured the evidence storage sites but feel very strongly updates are not needed. Unfortunately, I am not free to disclose the facts about the evidence storage due to the closed sessions I was included in.
It’s time the voters of Shawano County move the business of managing the county back to Main Street rather than the shack on East Green Bay Street.
I served on the board for eight years and experienced firsthand the difficulty in collaborating with some of these same individuals still serving on the board today.
