Larry J. Frank

Larry Joe Frank, 77, Tigard, Oregon, died Wednesday, Feb. 8, 2023. He was born to Elmer and Marge (Carson) Frank on Nov. 12, 1945 in Ironwood, Michigan. He was one of 14 siblings, all of whom he loved dearly. After graduating from Oconto Falls High School, he enrolled in the U.S. Marine Corps and served from January 1964 to March 1968 as a sergeant. Larry served during the Vietnam War and received the National Service Medal, Vietnamese Service Medal with One Star, Vietnamese Campaign Medal, Presidential Unit Citation, Navy Unit Citation and the Good Conduct Medal. He was proud to serve his country. He moved from Wisconsin to Oregon and graduated from Oregon State University with an engineering degree in 1974. He was married to his wife, Angela, for 50 years. They married in 1972 and had two daughters, Adrienne and Jill. Larry had a career at Bonneville Power Administration before leaving and starting an engineering consulting firm with his partners, Regulatory and Cogeneration Services. After a successful career, he retired in 1995. Larry enjoyed fishing and being outdoors. Larry was always helping people and spreading his love of Jesus. Even on hospice care, he was concerned for the welfare of others. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and more recently, great grandchildren. Larry will be forever missed and always remembered by his wife, Angela; children, Jill (Travis) Stewart and Adrienne Frank; five grandchildren; two great grandchildren; his siblings, Gary (Joyce) Frank, Nadine Rushton, Dennis Frank, Corrine Kuhlhanek, Deborah (Ronald) Olson, Douglas (Amy) Frank, Todd (Kate) Frank and Troy Frank; brother-in-law, Bill Curwick; nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers, Hughie, Dean, Robert (Bobby) and Charles; and sister, Sandra Curwick. Military honors funeral services for Larry will held 12:45 p.m. Friday, May 19, 2023, at Williamette National Cemetery, 11800 SE Mt. Scott Blvd., Portland, Oregon.
