The Machickanee Players will present a ghostly adventure during the Halloween season. “The Woman in Black,” a ghost play adapted by Stephen Mallatratt from the book by Susan Hill, will be presented at the Park Avenue Playhouse, 408 Park Ave., Oconto.
Arthur Kipps, a lawyer, rents a theater and hires a professional actor to help him re-enact a ghostly event that happened many years ago—with horrifyingly tragic results. The re-enactment unleashes a macabre sequence of events that ends with a chilling twist.
The production showcases the talents of Doug Kallies and Joe Noel, both veteran actors. The woman in black, whose identity must remain anonymous, will be portrayed by a longtime member of the group. The play is directed by Tammie McCarthy and Heidi Reed.
Dinner shows will take place at 7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 24, Saturday, Oct. 25, and Saturday, Nov. 1. The cost is $25, with prepaid reservations required. Walk-ins are welcome at 7:45 p.m. Cost is $14 per person.
Stand-alone shows will take place at 2 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 26 and 7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 31. The price is $12 with a prepaid reservation or $14 at the door.
A dessert show will take place at 2 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 2. Prepaid reservations are required. The cost is $17, which will include a dessert and beverages.
