Warren A. “Jim” Born, 89, of Bonduel, passed away Saturday, July 26, 2014, in Shawano. Born on Sept. 14, 1924, in Green Bay, he was the son of the late Art Manthei and the late Violet Born.
Jim was united in marriage to Margaret Kranning on Feb. 19, 1949. They made their home in the town of Washington for nine years and then moved to their farm in the town of Hartland in 1960, where he resided for the rest of his life. Jim enjoyed spending time with dog Keta, playing Sheep head, reading his Bible, taking rides and spending time with his grandchildren.
Jim is survived by his daughters, Jeannie Sadler, of Shawano, and Joy (Ken) Zeitler, of Gillett; his son, Sheldon (Barb) Born, of Bonduel; nine grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson; a brother, Wayne (Janet) Manthie, of Cecil; and a sister, Sharon (Phill) Bennett, of Sun Prairie.
Jim was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret, parents and an infant son.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, July 29, 2014, at the St. Paul Lutheran Church in Bonduel with the Rev. Timothy Shoup officiating. Visitation will be held at Swedberg-Wendt Funeral Home in Bonduel on Monday, July 28, from 4-8 p.m. and again Tuesday from 1 p.m. until the time of the service at the church. Burial will be in the St. Paul Lutheran Cemetery.
