A June 2 traffic stop led to the arrest of a man and recovery of drugs, guns and other contraband, according to the Menominee Tribal Police Department.
At about 11:15 a.m., officers conducted a traffic stop on a speeding vehicle traveling on state Highway 47 near Camp One Road on the Menominee Indian Reservation.
During the stop, officers observed suspicious behavior from the male driver that raised concerns. A probable cause search of the vehicle was conducted, leading to the discovery of several illegal items.
Items recovered from the vehicle included:
• Multiple individually packaged bindles of suspected illicit drugs.
• A 9mm handgun with ammunition.
• An AR-style assault rifle with ammunition.
• Additional illegal contraband.
The driver was taken into custody at the scene and transported to the Menominee Tribal Detention Facility. Charges are pending further investigation and analysis of the seized items.
