During his childhood, my husband loved going to the Shawano County Fair. He and his family enjoyed this special time of year.
The fair was something they were attracted to. The cow barns, the farm exhibits — corn stalks and cobs, soybeans, and samples of alfalfa — resonated with their farm identity.
Main Street in Oconto will once again come alive with thousands of visitors, local businesses, artisans, classic cars, live music, and family-friendly activities as Harvest Fest returns Sept. 26 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Presented by Nercon, Harvest Fest has grown into one of Northeast Wisconsin’s favorite fall traditions, drawing visitors from across the region to experience everything that makes small-town communities special.
Hillside Assembly of God will join thousands of churches nationwide for National Back to Church Sunday on Sept. 20.
Hillside will mark the day with a 10 a.m. service, followed by refreshments and a time of fellowship. Nursery care and a separate children’s service for sixth grade and younger are available.
At 6 p.m., the church will host a night of worship and prayer featuring Unbroken Revival, a new worship band from Shawano.
Certain years hold life’s memories and experiences that find a place deep in our souls. Recollections may be warm and sweet. Others could be heart-wrenching.
