Sleepy computer awakens need to straighten up

My computer monitor has been kind of sleepy lately. It doesn’t want to wake up when I come back to check something on the computer. Is it the monitor? Is it the computer? I was told it was likely the computer. I took it in a while back, and it was better for a while, but now it is sleepy once again. It isn’t so bad when I only have to switch it on and off two or three times, but sometimes, 10 minutes later, it still won’t wake up. By then I am in a panic, feeling that it won’t ever work, but somehow, bing, it is all lit up and ready to work. Meanwhile, I am running all the scans I can, in hopes to get rid of any bugs that could be causing the problem. I have been contemplating purchasing a new laptop for quite some time, and last week, I was ready for the move, but lately the monitor has been coming on after the second try more times than not, so I am back to contemplating. Meanwhile, I knew I would have to find the key numbers for my word processing software and my printer disc. That was last week, and I had no problem finding the disc, in a desk drawer, where I thought it would be. The software numbers were another matter. I remembered printing out the email that contained it, but didn’t remember where I put the piece of white paper. If you saw my home office you would know what a pack rat I am. I have lots of pieces of white paper piled high on the desk near the computer, so it was time to look for that needle in a hay stack. It amazes me when I am looking for something, that I find so many things I forgot I ever owned. Recipes, notepads, a paper clip container and a Scotch tape dispenser. I also found a lot of papers that were meant to be filed, but I somehow never got around to doing the job. Then there is the pile of papers that once resided on my kitchen cupboard. Company must have been coming, and I had no time to sort, so I must have just carried it into the office and set it down. My recycling box got full of papers I wondered why I bothered to save. All of this sorting and cleaning is a lesson to me. If I would only put things where they belong in the first place, it wouldn’t pile up all over. However, it seems the mail just keeps coming. Address labels, calendars, greeting cards and bills to name a few. The bills go into a basket, to be taken care of when the money is available. The other things tend to pile up, and while I have begun to throw away many of the labels, I still keep too many to store neatly. The calendar and greeting cards are usually given to the LCFS Thrift Store in Shawano, but they have to be put somewhere until I can transport them. Often, by the time I am going, I have forgotten where I put them. Meanwhile, during my search I kept thinking that I should have put it in a folder and into the file cabinet. However, the very last place I decided to look, I found a file folder, with that email inside. Why would I put it in a folder, but not put the folder in the cabinet, I have no idea. Maybe my brain is getting sleepy also.
