Rhinelander 134, Shawano-Seymour 33
The Rhinelander High School boys swim team won all 11 events in a 133-34 victory over Shawano-Seymour at the Heck Family Community Pool in Rhinelander.
“Rhinelander again looks to dominate the conference,” coach Sarah Tracy said. “We are a very young and inexperienced team that keeps improving during each meet.”
Beginning with the 200-yard medley relay, Shawano-Seymour’s Liam Laude, Dawson Maass, James Lange and Garret Young placed third in 2:38.76 for two points. The team of Gage Roberts, Marcus Biagini, Cole Beyer and Nicholas Auchue placed fourth.
Freshman Jonah Kuba finished second in the 200-yard freestyle in 2:04.24, and Young was fifth in 2:43.45.
Beyer placed fourth in the 200-yard individual medley in 3:29.24, and Maass was fifth in 3:32.57.
In the 50-yard freestyle, it was Nate Hilbert in third in 29.23, Brendon Riehl in fifth in 31.00 and Roberts was sixth in 38.16.
The 100-yard freestyle saw Hilbert in fourth in 1:07.74, Lange in fifth in 1:08.08 and Riehl in sixth in 1:12.38.
Kuba was runner-up in the 500-yard freestyle in 5:41.85. Young placed fifth in 7:30.11, and Biagini was sixth in 7:51.36.
For the 200-yard freestyle relay, the team of Hilbert, Auchue, Lange and Kuba placed second in 1:52.58, while Laude, Beyer, Maass and Riehl were fourth in 2:16.29.
Shawano-Seymour finished fourth, fifth and sixth in the 100-yard backstroke with Auchue finishing in 1:21.74, Laude finishing in 1:24.37 and Roberts ending the race in 2:07.75.
Maass was fourth in the 100-yard breaststroke in 1:31.59. Biagini placed fifth in 1:36.43, and Beyer was sixth in 1:49.40.
In the 400-yard freestyle relay, it was Lange, Hilbert, Riehl and Kuba placing fourth in 4:25.58. Auchue, Laude, Young and Biagini were fifth in 5:12.29.
Dec. 14
Terror Relays
Shawano-Seymour finished fourth out of six teams with 154 points at the Terror Relays at Appleton West.
Local swimmers captured five fifth-place finishes and three sixth-place spots.
The closest finish was in the 200-meter relay breast/fly. The team of Dawson Maass, James Lange, Marcus Biagini and Jonah Kuba placed fifth in 2:48.23, fewer than four seconds behind the fourth-place team from Wisconsin Rapids.

Shawano-Seymour 84, Medford 69
Shawano-Seymour swimmers won six of 11 events as they defeated Medford 84-69. Two of Medford’s wins occurred when there was no competition in the events.
Victories were claimed by James Lange in the 200-freestyle relay in 2:38.50; Nate Hilbert in the 50-yard freestyle in 29.90; Jonah Kuba in the 500-yard freestyle in 5:38.52; the team of Nicholas Auchue, Lange, Garret Young and Kuba in the 200-yard freestyle relay in 1:56.82; Liam Laude in the 100-yard backstroke in 1:20.83; and the team of Hilbert, Lange, Brendon Riehl and Kuba in the 400-yard freestyle relay in 4:30.87.

Shawano-Seymour 81, Lakeland Union 48
Shawano-Seymour won five events en route to an 81-48 win over Lakeland Union High School.
Jonah Kuba won the 200-yard individual medley with a time of 2:30.91. He also won the 500-yard freestyle in 5:50.35.
Brendon Riehl captured first place in the 100-yard freestyle in 1:16.70.
Winning the 200-yard freestyle relay was the team of Nicholas Auchue, Nate Hilbert, James Lange and Kuba in 1:58.61, two seconds ahead of the runner-up team.
The 400-yard freestyle relay team of Lange, Garret Young, Hilbert and Kuba won first place in 4:59.13.
