Bonduel Invite
Shawano’s girls wrestling team placed third among several schools at the Bonduel Invitational.
Adalyn Barkley placed first, while pinning all of her opponents.
“She is really wrestling well lately and looks to keep things going as we move closer to regionals,” coach Mike Homan said.
Gwyn Hermann also wrestled well and took second in the 107-pound bracket. Jenna Moede took third place, wrestling well but dropping a close match in the semifinals.
“Jenna is doing a good job, and we look for her to continue that going forward,” Homan said.
Lilly Tomas also placed third. She lost 2-1 in the semifinals. Vivian Waldburger wrestled out of a tough situation in her fifth-place match; she worked for a pin taking fifth place. Jacey Cowden wrestled well and took fifth place as well.
Kendall Knope and Maddy Miller each placed sixth.
Shawano will host multiple schools at its Jan. 31 invitational.
