Robert “Plumbob” Beaumia, 83, Oconto Falls, died Tuesday evening, Sept. 10, 2013, at home, surrounded by his family. He was born June 26, 1930, in Oconto Falls to Clarence and Anna (Young) Beaumia.
He attended St. Anthony Catholic Grade School and, as a young man, served in the U.S. Army as an MP during the Korean War. Following his honorable discharge from the military, Bob worked at numerous other jobs, including 4-Wheel Drive in Clintonville for nine years.
On April 23, 1972, he married Shirley (Tappa) Lisowe after Sunday Mass at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Oconto Falls. Bob was employed as a journeyman plumber by United Plumbing and Heating in Oconto Falls for many years until his retirement. He was a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church in Oconto Falls and the Eick-Sankey American Legion Post 302. Over the years, Bob enjoyed hunting and trap shooting with his family and friends.
Survivors are his loving wife of 41 years, Shirley Beaumia, Oconto Falls; his children and, as Bob would tell you, “five instant and one regular,” Tim (Jean) Lisowe, Sue Lisowe, Mary McDermid, all of Oconto Falls, Kathy (Dale) Klosterman, Gillett, John Lisowe, Green Bay, and Dave (Becky) Beaumia, Luxemburg; 12 grandchildren, Rebecca (Kenny) Behnke, Amy (Troy) Brehmer and Courtney (fiancé Keaton Kazik) Lisowe, Steven McDermid, Julie (Jason) Kardoskee, Mathew McDermid and Jenny (Chris) Stahl, Jason, Kimberly and Sean Klosterman, Eli and Aubrey Beaumia; four great-grandchildren, Mathew and Addyson Behnke, Trace and Allie Brehmer; one brother, three sisters and two sisters-in-law.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his son-in-law, Mike McDermid, one brother, one sister, other relatives and friends.
Visitation was held Friday, Sept. 13, at Jones Funeral Service in Oconto Falls. Visitation continued Saturday, Sept. 14, at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Oconto Falls. Mass of Christian Burial was held Saturday at the church with the Rev. Joel Sember officiating. Burial, with military honors, followed in the church cemetery.
