The Oconto Falls Lioness Club will hold its fourth annual Fun Fest Chili Cook-Off on Saturday, Sept. 27, at Memorial Field in Oconto Falls. All cooking and chili enthusiasts are encouraged to enter the cook-off, which is a Lioness Club fundraiser to benefit the Avenue of Lights project in Oconto Falls.
Entry fee is $10. Cash prizes of $200, $125 and $75 will be awarded to the top three contestants. Judging will be done by local chefs and restaurant operators. The public will choose a People’s Choice winner, who will receive a stockpot filled with cooking and food items.
Chili sampling starts at 11 a.m. Chili will be available for sale by the bowl and as chili and chips. Brats, hot dogs and beverages will also be available.
The event is sponsored by ST Paper, Falls Family Restaurant, McDermid Trucking, Oconto Electric Cooperative, The Penguin Again, Witt’s Piggly Wiggly, and Matt and Cathy Steffens of Steffens Roofing.
