Raymond E. Nicholaus, 90, of Wyndemere Estates in Green Bay, formerly of Shawano, passed away peacefully on Jan. 26, 2015, in Green Bay.
Raymond was born on March 29, 1924, in Bonduel, the son of the late Emil and Anna (Heling) Nicholaus. On June 19, 1948, he was united in marriage to Irene Werbelow at the St. James Lutheran Church in Shawano. Irene preceded him in death on April 5, 1989.
Ray worked for Consolidated Badger for 20 years, where he was very proud of his perfect driving record. He later worked for 4-Wheel Drive in Clintonville, where he helped manufacture Seagrave Fire Trucks, until his retirement in 1987. Ray was a member of St. James Lutheran Church and enjoyed gardening in his free time.
Raymond is survived by his daughter, Jan (Steven) Born, of Green Bay; his granddaughter and joy of his life, Tiffany Born; as well as a sister-in-law, Marian Nicholaus, of Shawano.
Raymond was preceded in death by his wife, Irene; his parents, three brothers and two sisters.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 31, 2015, at Swedberg Funeral Home in Shawano with the Rev. Ted Andrada officiating. Burial will be in the Woodlawn Cemetery in Shawano. Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Saturday from 10 a.m. until the time of the service.
