Shawano’s girls wrestling team hosted Menasha and Pulaski, coming up short in both matches.
Menasha 48, Shawano 16
Shawano wrestlers getting wins were Kendall Knope, Jozlyn Brocker and Vivian Waldburger.
“The girls wrestled tough and just came up short,” coach Mike Homan said. “Kendall has been doing a great job this season, and she is learning quick.”
Knope pinned Bryn Keberlein in 30 seconds.
Waldburger finished on top with an 8-0 major decision.
“Vivian controlled the match from the start and wrestled well,” Homan said.
Pulaski 33, Shawano 30
Despite the team losing by three points, Shawano had several wins. They were from Knope, Brocker, Jenna Moede, Maddie Miller and Lily Tomas.
Brocker had a quick pin in 23 seconds.
“She is aggressive, and it really paid off in this match,” Homan said.
Tomas secured a pin in 1:41.
“There were some other tight matches that we just came out on the other end of,” Homan said. “The girls are working hard to get better and will continue that.”
