A pickup truck crashed into the side of a dump truck Friday afternoon, killing the pickup’s driver and injuring his wife.
According to the Oconto County Sheriff’s Office, a dump truck driven by a 55-year-old man from Marinette pulled out from the stop sign to cross state Highway 32 and travel east on County Road S in Chase. The dump truck pulled in front of a northbound pickup truck driven by Michael R. Reinhard, 62, of Oneida.
Reinhard was transported by Eagle III and died a short time later at a local hospital. Brenda Reinhard, 53, was transported to an area hospital for injuries that were not life-threatening. The driver of the dump truck was not injured.
The crash, which occurred at 3:45 p.m., is under investigation by the Oconto County Sheriff’s Office. Speed and alcohol do not appear to be factors in the crash.
