OFHS says aloha to new teachers

The staff at Oconto Falls High School used a Hawaiian theme to welcome students on the first day of classes. Six new teachers joined the staff. There was 100 percent turnover in the OFHS agriculture department. Rachel Kroeplien got a head start on the school year by teaching a number of summer school classes. She did a major housecleaning of the facilities and drafted her dad to volunteer for a few days over the summer. The other half of the ag department team is Amanda Lietz. She and Kroeplien they will supervise the FFA chapter. Lietz has been active with a trout-rearing program sponsored by Trout Unlimited and will initiate that program at OFHS this year. Amy Root will teach science and physics. She said she is happy to return to Wisconsin after teaching in Iowa for a time. Geoffrey Root will teach math. He also has a strong background in physics and hopes to bring a number of practical science examples into his math instruction. Karissa Kaiser will teach English. Social studies teacher Alex Seidel is an Oconto Falls High School graduate and had many of his colleagues as teachers when he was in school.
