Proceedings of April 14
• Dillon Steven Renard, 40, Green Bay, was sentenced to three years in prison, followed by three years of extended supervision with conditions, for theft, taking a vehicle without consent, criminal damage to property and a misdemeanor count of resisting or obstructing an officer, in connection with an incident that happened June 16. Judge Michael Judge gave Renard credit for 303 days already served and ruled he is eligible for the Substance Abuse Program, which can lead to early release upon successful completion.
• An Oct. 21-24 jury trial was scheduled for Brian A. Blasing, 35, an Oconto man serving a prison sentence at Dodge Correctional Institution after being convicted in Marinette County of first-degree reckless homicide by delivering drugs in the death of Terry Westphal. Blasing is charged in Oconto County with first-degree reckless homicide by delivering drugs and manufacture with intent to deliver heroin in the Sept. 12, 2018, death of Jeffrey Dean Pecha, as well as possession of amphetamine with intent to deliver, misdemeanor possession of cocaine and two counts of misdemeanor bail jumping, in connection with an incident that allegedly occurred April 29, 2019. Judge scheduled a final pre-trial conference for Sept. 22.
• An Oct. 7 jury trial was scheduled for Robert T. Albert II, 53, Oconto, on charges of possession of methamphetamine, possession of narcotic drugs, maintaining a drug trafficking place and misdemeanor charges of disorderly conduct and possessing THC, drug paraphernalia and illegally obtained prescription drugs, in connection with an incident that allegedly occurred Aug. 7, 2023. Judge scheduled a final pre-trial conference for Sept. 22.
• A Nov. 14-15 jury trial was scheduled for Baldwin C. Framnes, 24, a Gillett man serving time at Dodge Correctional Institution in Waupun, on charges of second-degree sexual assault of an unconscious victim and felony bail jumping, in connection with an incident that allegedly took place Aug. 10, 2024. Judge scheduled a final pre-trial conference for Oct. 14.
• Bond was set at $5,000 cash for Kayla Lynn Harris, 29, Oconto, after she was charged with battery or threat to a law officer, child abuse intentionally causing harm, two counts of felony bail jumping and misdemeanor counts of resisting or obstructing an officer and disorderly conduct, in connection with an incident that allegedly occurred April 14. Judge adjourned her initial appearance until May 22.
• Bond was set at $5,000 cash for Brady Lee Boucher, 30, Oconto, after he was charged with felony bail jumping in connection with an incident that allegedly occurred April 13. Judge adjourned his initial appearance until May 22.
Proceedings of April 15
• Ryan Christopher Mootz, 45, New Berlin, was sentenced to three years in prison, followed by three years of extended supervision with conditions, for operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated (seventh, eighth or ninth offense) in connection with an incident that occurred Jan. 4, 2024. Judge scheduled sentencing for April 17 and ordered a pre-sentence investigation. Judge ruled he is eligible for the Substance Abuse Program, which can lead to early release upon successful completion.
Proceedings of April 17
• After a three-day jury trial, Joey Vandewettering, 62, Town of Gillett, was found guilty of first-degree sexual assault, false imprisonment, strangulation and suffocation, first-degree reckless endangerment and possession of methamphetamine, along with misdemeanor charges of battery, disorderly conduct and possession of drug paraphernalia, in connection with an incident that occurred Feb. 27, 2024. Judge Jay Conley ordered a pre-sentence investigation, and sentencing will be scheduled at a later date.
• Henry J. Mahers, 34, Pound, waived his right to a preliminary hearing and pleaded not guilty to strangulation and suffocation, and misdemeanor counts of battery and disorderly conduct, in connection with an incident that allegedly occurred Nov. 21. Judge scheduled a pre-trial conference for May 22.
