The average number of all layers on hand during May was 7.83 million, down 6% from last year. Eggs per 100 layers for May was 2,609, down 1% from a year ago. United States egg production totaled 9.10 billion during May, down 2% from last year.

There will be no more gathering at The Gathering in Shawano. The banquet hall and restaurant closed for good after serving one last Fathers’ Day brunch in June. The Gathering, 2600 E.
