Accident — A 30-year-old Cecil man was treated for head injuries sustained after falling from a moving bus in the 200 block of South Main Street.
Chargers lose to Pacelli
The Wittenberg-Birnamwood High School football team lost to Stevens Point Pacelli 21-0 Friday to open Central Wisconsin Conference-8 play in Wittenberg.
Pacelli (2-1, 1-0 CWC-8) was led by quarterback Isaac Elliott, who was 17 for 23 for 149 yards and threw all three of Pacelli’s touchdowns.
Sam Szews was five for 15 for 93 yards and threw three interceptions for Wittenberg-Birnamwood (1-2, 0-1 CWC-8).
The WIAA has released a second proposal for conference realignment in northeastern Wisconsin, revising a plan released to schools in April.
The new plan has the Bay Conference dropping from 10 teams to eight teams, while the Eastern Valley Conference expands from eight teams to 10.
Oconto Falls, which was moved from the Bay to the Eastern Valley in the April proposal, will be joined by current Bay teams Marinette and Luxemburg-Casco.

The city of Shawano, along with the Wisconsin Department of Transportation, is now in the design state for the reconstruction of Airport Drive (state Highway 47/55) from state Highway 29 to East Green Bay Street.
Living and working in the local area, I see the Airport Drive and County Road B intersection becoming increasingly dangerous.
The intersection, I believe, needs serious control consideration.

Last week I wrote about how the city responded to the aftermath of the storm. This week I would like to comment on how citizens handled the devastation that occurred at their own homes as well as the homes of their friends, neighbors and families.
