Glenn Kloes

Glenn Kloes, of Antigo, died Saturday, Nov. 2, 2013, at Aspirus Wausau Hospital. He was 77 years old. He was born on Feb. 6, 1936, in Three Lakes, a son of the late Gustav and Lucille (Spankuch) Kloes. He married Alice Seis on Sept. 2, 1961, at St. John Catholic Church in Antigo. She survives. He attended Lakewood Grade School and was a graduate of Arbor Vitae-Woodruff High School. Mr. Kloes joined the National Guard in 1957. In 1961 he was called into active duty serving in the United States Army as a tank mechanic. Mr. Kloes was employed by the Department of Natural Resources in Antigo and later in Shawano, retiring in 1993. His passion was working on the Navarino Wildlife Area. He enjoyed watching the Green Bay Packers, Milwaukee Brewers and Wisconsin Badgers. He also enjoyed and spent many hours researching his family genealogy. In addition to his wife, survivors include three daughters, Debra Kloes, of Antigo, Patricia (Jay) Reynolds, of Aniwa, and Michelle (Michael Barwick) Kloes, of Aniwa; four sons, Steven Kloes, Randy (Kathy) Kloes, Robert Kloes, all of Antigo, and Douglas Kloes, of Aniwa; six grandchildren, Dana (Brian Murray) Reynolds, Molly Barwick, Mitchell Barwick, Nikki Kloes, Brett Kloes and Hannah Reynolds; a great-granddaughter, Taylan Murray; two brothers, James (Jan) Kloes, of Oregon, and Tom (Beverly) Kloes, of Hatley. He was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Jay Reynolds, and a brother, David Kloes. A funeral service will be held on Thursday at 11 a.m. at Bradley Funeral Home with the Rev. Charles Hoffmann officiating. Burial will take place in the Queen of Peace Cemetery, with Antigo veterans conducting military honors.
