Eunice Ida Moericke, 97, formerly of Bonduel, died on Friday, April 25, 2014, in De Pere. Born on Sept. 14, 1916, in Hortonville, she is the daughter of the late Walter and Elvira (Baars) Bleick.
When she was very young, Eunice and her family relocated to the Bonduel area, where her father opened Bleick’s Creamery, which produced cheese, ice cream and butter. On Sept. 14, 1938, Eunice was united in marriage to Elmer E. Moericke, who preceded her in death on Feb. 16, 1991. After they were married, the couple worked with her father at the creamery, taking over the business in 1951 until their retirement in 1979. Eunice was a member of the St. Paul Lutheran Church in Bonduel. She enjoyed sewing, gardening, attending Bible Study, doing puzzles, playing games — including cards and Bingo, and she loved dogs and birds.
Eunice is survived by her daughter, Judy (Randy) Tank, of Gillett; her son, Daniel (Susan) Moericke, of De Pere; daughter-in-law, Kathleen Moericke, of Bonduel; two sisters-in-law, Marge Bleick, of Cecil, and Marie Moericke, of Crandon. She is further survived by seven grandchildren, Bobby Jo (Rick) Lade, Rick (Jodene) Moericke, Holly (Rory Schubert) Krueger, Eric Styczynski, Wendy (Greg) Staley, Kevin (Renee) Moericke and Sarah (Gary Rabe) Moericke; 22 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Elmer; her parents; two sons, Wayne and Norman; a daughter, Diana; and two brothers, Carl and Robert.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Monday, April 28, 2014, at the St. Paul Lutheran Church in Bonduel with the Rev. Mark Palmer officiating. Visitation was on Monday at the church from 9 a.m. until the time of the service. Burial was in the church cemetery.
