Zenith Louise “Nen” Lyons, 78, of Shawano, passed away Saturday, April 26, 2014, at her home surrounded by her loving family. Born on Nov. 2, 1935, in Keshena, she was the daughter of the late Richard and Rose (Schroeder) Dick.
Zenith worked for several years as a home care worker. She was united in marriage to Merle “Sonny Boy” Lyons. Zenith was a member of the River Valley Church in Shawano. When not at work, she enjoyed doing word searches, playing Bingo and doing crossword puzzles. She was also an amazing cook.
Zenith is survived by two daughters, Doreen Lyons and Susie Lyons; two sons, John Lyons and Jim Lyons; 20 grandchildren; two brothers, Gerald “Desser” (Tonia) Dick, of California, and Richard “Dickie” (Margaret) Dick, of Lodi; and favorite friend, Santana Lyons.
Zenith was preceded in death by her husband, Merle; two children, Rose and Kenny; her parents; and seven siblings, John Dick, Bernard “Bunny” Dick, Donald “Donny” Dick, Francis “Sonny” Disk, Loretta “Humphsy” Wilbur, Dorothy “Nora” Hayes and Frances “Boo Boo” Rusch.
Private family services were held. Inurnment will be in the Rest Haven Cemetery, Keshena.
Swedberg Funeral Home in Shawano is assisting the family with the arrangements.
