The Gresham Community High School boys golf team took third, Wittenberg-Birnamwood was fourth, Menominee Indian seventh, Bonduel eighth and Marion ninth at the Central Wisconsin Conference championship Thursday at Foxfire Golf Course.
Kyle Miller, who carded an 87, led Gresham (377). Killian Eggert shot a 91, James Kazik 97 and Cole Hoffman 102.
Ben Shoup led the Bears (412) with a round of 92.
“Even after starting out with 52 on the front nine, he kept his composure and finished with a strong back nine,” Bonduel coach Dan Anderson said. “As a senior, he should be proud of the accomplishment and he’s been a class act for four years.”
Bonduel’s Zach Acker shot 96, Brandon Wagester 111, Mitch LaBerge 113.
Aneciway Latender shot 92 to lead Menominee Indian (405) , with John Long at 96 and Donte Dickenson at 99. Brandon Miller shot 118.
For Wittenberg-Birnamwood, Marverick Bushman had a 87 to lead his team. Brant Linke and Taylor Bushman each had 96. Kyle Adamski shot 100.
“With the regular season under our belts, our focus now is to try to get through regionals and see how far we can advance as a team and individuals,” Wittenberg-Birnamwood coach Chris Bartletti said.
Jared Sawall had a 90 to lead Marion. Brandon Schultz had a 114, Brian Knight 116 and Emily Sawall 124.
Iola-Scandinavia and Stevens Point Pacelli ended up tied for the conference title and had to play a five-man playoff, which Iola-Scandinavia won by two strokes.
Iola-Scandinavia’s Zach Mortonson and Weyauwega-Fremont’s David Niemuth tied for the medalist honors with a score of 80.
