Kathryn “Kathy” Bartelt, 55, of Shawano, passed away Thursday, Aug. 21, 2014, in Neenah. Born on Jan. 1, 1959, she was the daughter of the late Robert Bartelt and Marva (Knope) Wege.
Kathy owned and operated Quality Images and worked as a graphic design artist at North Star Casino. Kathy was very artistic and creative and enjoyed doing different crafts. She loved going to rummage sales and flea markets in her spare time. Kathy’s smile could light up a room. She will be deeply missed by her family, friends and her three dogs, Jackie, Katie and Abby.
Kathy is survived by her daughters, Kelly (Bill) Theis, Sara (fiancé Erik Sumnicht) Hoeft, both of Shawano; her grandchildren, Will, Wyatt, Walker, Mason and Maverick; her mother, Marva (Don) Wege, of Shawano; her sisters, Nancy (Dick) Charron, of De Pere, and Vicky (Bill Brennan) Brennan, of De Pere; her brother, Mike “Battles” Bartelt, of Shawano; her friend and Sara’s father, Mark Hoeft; as well as many nieces and nephews.
Kathy was preceded in death by her father, Robert Bartelt, and a stepfather, Curt Berglin
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Aug. 25, 2014, at the Peace United Church of Christ in Shawano with the Rev. Marty Black officiating. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 24, 2014, at Swedberg Funeral Home in Shawano and from 10 a.m. until the time of the service on Monday at the church. Burial will be in the Woodlawn Cemetery in Shawano.
