Exhibit explores county history
The Shawano County Historical Society’s exhibit featuring Bars, Barrooms, Brothels and Breweries in the Farmers Exhibition building drew the most traffic inside the building all day Sunday.
Jerry Raddant, of Shawano, was one of the people interested. He heard stories about his distant cousin’s brewery in Shawano but never saw pictures until Sunday.
Missing child quickly located
Several fairgoers stopped and listened as the public address system announced a missing 3-year-old boy Sunday. After 15 minutes, the boy was found.
“It was a happy ending,” a sheriff’s deputy said.
People like walking on water
Walk on Water Balls had received more than 300 customers as of 7 p.m. Sunday. The Wausaukee-based company is making its second visit to the fair.
Employees inflate a ball with a oxygen and allow people to literally walk on water, in a wading pool.
