The Wittenberg-Birnamwood High School boys and girls teams won Central Wisconsin Conference cross-country championships Thursday at Weyauwega-Fremont High School.
The Bonduel boys were third, led by senior Sam Falck’s second-place finish in 17:33. He was followed by Travis Wollenberg (7th, 18:27), Austin Marcks (8th, 18:33), Jake Moede (22nd, 19:41) and Austin Kurey (24th, 19:46).
Hunter Kreger led Witt-Birn with a fifth-place finish in 17:53. Riley Bohlman (6th, 18:14) was next, followed by Dustin Tomson (10th, 18:46), Tyler Weller (11th, 18:50) and Damon Wolff (15th, 19:00).
Menominee Indian junior Austin Bubotz finished 32nd in 21:25.
Delaney Greene-Gretzinger won the girls race with a time of 19:32 for the seventh-place Marion girls. Rounding out the scoring for Marion were Paige Polzin (27th, 23:06), Hannah Greene Gretzinger (29th, 23:12), Kayla Brei (50th, 27:25) and Lauren Pamperin (51st, 27:28).
Witt-Birn’s Emily Norrbom was sixth with a time of 21:03, followed by Alexis Balliett (9th, 21:22), Paige Norrbom (10th, 21:29), Siri Zeinert (13th, 21:30) and Alyssa Meverden (20th, 22:15).
Ashlyn Schnell finished 16th overall in 21:45 for the Bonduel girls, who finished in sixth place. She was followed by Anna Palmer (20th, 22:12), Aneta Rohloff (28th, 23:10), Laney Richmond (30th, 23:16) and Abigail Palmer (31st, 23:42).
