David M. Zachow, 53, of the town of Belle Plaine, Shawano County, passed away Friday, Nov. 28, 2014, at his home.
David was born on January 16, 1961, in Milwaukee as the son of Gordon Zachow and the late Marlene (Zimmermann) Zachow. He graduated from Shawano High School in 1978. David then began working for his father at Zachow Plumbing where he became a master plumber. His passion was spending time in the outdoors, especially when it came to trapping or hunting. David was very particular about his game mounts and had a unique ability when it came to creating European mounts and antler plaques. He had a soft heart, loved his cats, and enjoyed volunteering as a mentor with the youth and handicap hunting and fishing programs.
Survivors include his father, Gordon Zachow, Belle Plaine; brother, Gary Zachow, Milwaukee; niece, Alyson (Randy) Newhouse, Appleton; as well as other relatives and friends.
David was preceded in death by his mother; Marlene, and his maternal and paternal grandparents.
A memorial service will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 6, 2014, at the Eberhardt-Stevenson Funeral Home & Crematory in Clintonville with the Rev. Brian Crocker officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home on Saturday from 9:30 until the time of the service. Memorials for David will be directed by his family to local youth and handicap hunting programs.
